♪ Lotd (Vertical mixed curls) + Guerlain BB cream (??)

I posted tutorial for Horizontal curls before; this post is not a tutorial (I will if anyone wants to see :) I haven't done this kind of vertical and mixed curls for a while! It was kind of fun doing it :PP
Basically vertical curls means holding your curling iron vertically, and mixed means inwards and outwards mixed!
This technique creates obvious curls that's a little messy and a glamorous feel
I did this as basically a day look so I matched it with rather simple makeup :)

Half-updo with this hair, it's very simple! All you need is two pins! It's good for dinner, dates etc,, anything that you need to add a little more soft femininity :>

I have started a "Rediscovering Makeup" project after seeing Nic nic's~ and I recently started using this Guerlain product again, Creme Camphrea-Anti Blemish Care.

Back discription: Covers and clears up the superficial imperfections of oily skin. Apply locally.

I don't really know how to call it because it is like a foudation but much more natural, it is thick but not dry, so very easy to blend out. So I decided to call it BB cream lol, since the definition of BB cream is Blemish Balm, and "Balm" is the exact word to describe the texture of this product, thick but easy to blend. BB cream is supposed to heal blemishes like this product as well. I only use it as a concealer (except for my under eye) on spots to covers and some on my cheeks to cover redness.
I do notice my pimples NOT getting irritated after applying this; compare to using regular concealers, they sometimes irritate pimples and make them worse.
The colour though is on the pink side, as my skin is actually quite pink I find it ok for me; some people might find this shade too pink.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Thank you new followers~ we have reached more than 100 followers!! :DDD
Thank you everyone for liking us and supporting me while Ai is gone :>

♪ Canmake "curl keep" lengthening mascara base

This mascara base had really good ranking on http://www.cosme.net (Japan's Makeupalley) when I bought it, which was this winter. I didn't go through my Kate mascara base until recently so I finally started using this. All images can be clicked on to enlarge.

Full name: Canmake Curl Styling Base- curl keep & long
I was changing my sheets that day so you are looking at the bare mattress lol

The formula (sorry about the lash that got stuck in between = =;; I'm losing my lashes damn it..)
a gel-like formula with lots fibre
Application:
After curling my lashes + 2 coats of the base
the formula is quite thin, comparing to Lancome or Lise Watier mascara base (both very good mascara base in a creamy formula) you need to at least apply 2 coats to have the product grabbing on the lashes.
the formular is very light; so it keeps the curl very well, doesn't weight the curl down at all
With mascara
the mascara goes on pretty smoothly; you can see a little clumps because my mascara is old... lol i used Fasio Hyper-stay mascara (curl volume)
the lashes do harden after this base, so the curl stays all day. I actually went drinking that day and slept over with the mascara on... ewww i know! but my friend didn't have waterproof makeup remover! and the curl was still there when i woke up~~!

Finished look with eyebrows, can you tell I did something different with my eyebrow? It's sharper than how i normally draw it~~ the good thing about having light eyebrow is I can change it to anything I want lol :P
There has been a few people asking me about my eyebrows; the reason they are light is because .. I just have very little hair in general.. lol, hence hair, lashes, eyebrow... they are kinda non-existing if i don't draw them.. but if you like the light eyebrow look, check out Ai's eyebrow bleaching tutorial here ~ http://aimeidaily.blogspot.com/2010/01/tutorial-eyebrow-bleaching.html
General rating (5 being the highest):
Curl keep: ♪♪♪♪+
Lengthening: ♪♪♪+
Would I repurchase? Yes
The mascara
Fasio hyper-stay, personally i think it's one of the best mascara i'v ever used. I have went through at least 3,4 tubes so far, it's very seperating, volumizing and black, it also holds curl quite well; however it's very very very hard to remove... lol.. on the other hand hard to smudge and I'm pretty sure you can cry a river with this stuff on and the mascara would stay where they were lol
so do try it out if you don't mind the removing part :P I use Lancome Bi-facil or Softymo Super Point makeup remover, both works for this mascara :)

♪ FOTD, HOTD & review some recent good finds!

First of all thank you everyone who sent me your regards! I have recovered.. for a while actually haha~ as Ai said it's been really busy for us lately so I havn't updated till today, I'm waiting for a friend so I'm taking a break from studying and doing this update hehehe~~ I have actually accumulated quite a lot FOTD's to update but since I also took pics today I'll use the fresh ones!

My bangs is finally long enough to be styled!! I can actually curl them without them falling on my face now haha~ meaning my bangs now blends in with the hair on two sides after I curl them :D Although this styling is really pretty rough, because I have so little time to get ready now, I actually just curled the bangs and some strands of my hair with a hot curler; this is a quick tip for days you have no time to curl the whole head but still wanna give some bounce to your hair. It also looks more natural than curling whole head :>

Eye makeup is super minimalist and basic, as I only used one colour of shadow on my lid, I made sure the lashes are full and eye liner is light enough. Here I'm still using my all time staple shadow, Cezanne Sweets Sweets perfect eye palatte, the earthy one I used many times in previous post.

Products used on eye:
  • Sweets Sweets perfect eye
  • Guerlain eye pencil in Bronze Noir N.7
  • Clinique high impact mascara

Here I wanna share a good powder I have recently purchased; it's the Physicians Formula Mineral Colour Correcting Powder; I have only used their bronzer before but since this product promises No talc, fragrance free, paraben free and the line in general is for sensitive skin; I decided to give it a try. I usually don't use powder, because the foundation I normally use is the Mary Kay mineral foundation which is already powdery; but since spring is here I have been trying to find a powder to lighten my base makeup.

Review ( ♪♪♪♪♪ being the perfect score!)

-Coverage ♪♪♪♪
It covers redness and oilyness really well; what I love about this one is that you can actually rub a little of the specific colour area to cover little area; i.e I used my finger to rub the green powder onto my pimple to give it extra coverage. However the powder is not fine enough for my expectation; you can click on the image to see more clearly; so after brushing on the powder I need to use another clean sponge to press my skin to make the powder more fitted (? couldn't find a better word) to my skin; otherwise it seems powery.

-Colour ♪♪
At first I was afraid it's going to be too white because there is only one selection of colour; btw if you are the type that likes white skin this would a really good product because it does brighten you skin a lot! But since I only use a powder brush to brush a thin layer on my skin after concealer, it mainly brightened my skin without making me look a few shades whiter. Still I worry if I can continue to use this product in summer because I like getting some tan in summer. For those of you who stays white all year round (like Ai! haha~ :p) you can give this product a try~

-Lasting power ♪♪♪♪
Its lasting power is super good like a mineral foundation; even my Mary Kay still leaves me grease at the end of the day; but these pics are taken after I came back from school after half a day of sitting in front of computer, walking outside, going window shopping etc. lol~~ there is still some oily spot at my T-zone (I'm super oily at T-zone) but other parts are still pretty good

Pros:
Versatile colour correction, can be used on specific trouble area. Stays quite well throughout the day and does not seem powery; no talc; not irrating in any way so far.

Cons:
Only one selection of colour; can be too white for some skin colour; the powder is not fine enough so needs extra step to press with a clean sponge.

It comes with a kind of cute brush, which I never used... I use my own powder brush because this brush is too soft and thin.

How it looks on my skin after school; I admit I have already blotted my T-zone a little.. haha~~ but you can still tell how the powder stayed all day and the natural coverage, it really does not seem powdery. You can click on the image to view bigger size, I have left this pic very big so you can see very clearly :>
Wearing:
  • Benefit Eye Bright pencil
  • Covermark concealer stick in Y-1
  • Physician formular colour correcting powder
  • Dior show blush in Catwalk pink
  • Guerlain terracotta moisturising bronzer in N.3
On the side note I bought this very spring pastel colour from Sally Hanson Hard as Nails polish called Fairy Nice; after Ai found out about this super cheap line which has many nice colours! I put on base+2 layers of Fairy Nice+ top coat; it's exactly the same colour with some more expensive line's new spring pastel lines but only cost $2, when it was on sale :DD

P.S the video which we said we'll make will have to be postponed to after April 19th, which is our final presentation day; sorry about the delay and we'll try to post as much as possible during these days so please check back at us~~ :D

♣ Mini March Haul & Ai's FOTD: Day 8 (Lipstick-A-Day)

Sephora visit and I picked up some stuff at PharmaPlus (there was a sale). Of course like always I buy more than I should...
Here it is.

Marcelle:
L: Lace Duo Face Powder in Mademoiselle ($15)
R: Lace Eyeshadow Trio in Fancy Pink ($12)

Swatches:
IMO:
Ok. I admit I am a fan of cute packaging. I have a tendency to lose to cute packaging; 10 out of 10 times. That should have explained why I made these purchases. The Lace Duo Face Powder includes a blush (top) and a bronzer (bottom). See the packaging!!! So so cute!!! Useless product; the cute lace graphics automatically disappear when you put your brush to it, so that just about ended the product for me. lol. The blush is a strange iridescent pink, where it is ultra hot pink on an angle, but a pale pink at frontal view... I think this is because of the bright pink frost in the blush, regardless not my preference as of now. The bronzer is "meh" ok, but it could have more pigmentation. On to the eyeshadow, Lace Eyeshadow Tri in Fancy Pink. Again the cute graphics disappear when you use it, but the colour are usable, still lacking pigmentation imo. You could tell from the swatches that there are not enough pigmentation in this product. Too costly for a product that is below my standard.

Sephora:
Harmony Trio Bronzer ($16)

Swatches:
IMO:
Strangely enough I never wear or own any bronzer. First bronzer purchase ever. This could replace both of the Marcelle products above. When used together it is a peachy gold colour that could be used as bronzer or even pass as a blush. When used separately, it becomes 3 eye shadows. Great pigmentation, application is smooth and silky. Overall <3.

Sally Hansen:
Hard As Nails in Stony Creme ($2)

IMO:
I have never bought nail polish for $2 before... It could come off as a little granny-ish, but I love the colour. Looks like a brownish purple to me, a bit of vintage feel. In the pictures I applied basecoat, 2 coats of Stony Creme, and topcoat. No chips so far; thats amazing for me because I am reckless with my hands and nails.

FOTD (my face):
(wearing GEO Honey Wing)
Eyes:
- shimmer gold/champagne colour all over upper lid
- apply 1/3 of punch colour in bronze from outer corner; here I used the middle colour of the Sephora Harmony Trio bronzer
- eye line 2/3 of upper lash line from the outer corner
- dust white pearl shadow to bottom inner corner

Face:
I used the Sephora Harmony Trio bronzer as a blush.

Lips:

New obsession or interest of nude lipstick led me to purchase Sephora Maniac lipstick in Paris. The colour is very nude, if I did not apply any makeup I would look sickly. Coverage is mediocre, not as moisturizing as Rimmel Renew but its staying power is quite good. It makes you feel like you are wearing lipstick though, I personally like that feeling.

Hair talk: Sorry readers... my bangs are growing out and the length is a little strange so my hair is up all the time, which is sad. Looking on the brighter side: I can wear nice earrings.

Hope you liked it~ Have fun <3
