I have recently been listening to Death Cab for Cutie and Phoenix. They sound similar to Mr. Children but vocals are in English (duh... lol.). New boots; I truly believe they would look better if they are dirty. I tried kicking them around in TTC, but they are still work in progress. I am getting back into thrifting again. Found the silver serving plate (now serving my jewelery) and this porcelain tiger. No idea what I should put inside this unhappy tiger. It kind of reflects my mood right now lol... maybe because it's empty and doesn't serve a purpose right now.

Got my hair trimmed again today with subtle changes. It was getting too long... I don't know if I will attempt long hair again. Sorry readers, I know this is suppose to be a beauty blog but I have not posted anything related to makeup lol. maybe next post? my daily routine is only base makeup, mascara, and lipstick... :[

Got my eyelashes permed at a salon, usually cost between $20 - 60. I had mine done for $35. Depending on salon they use either rods or clips to maintain the curl of your lashes when perming. The first time I had this done they used rods, this time the salon used clips.

Rod: more prone to having kinks in your lashes (if the beautician is not careful)... but curl is much more obvious and dramatic.

Clips: curl is less obvious, more natural.

I wanted dramatic curly lashes, but sadly what I got was pretty natural. :( 

If you want more info on how lash perming is done, just look it up on youtube~ looks a bit freaky but I assure you it's painless.

Hello to our readers~ if there are still readers lol. Sorry for not updating for the longest time (at least for my part...). I had a busy summer right after my semester ended. Started working, visited HK, went back to Shanghai, came back and continued to work... no excuse really just a bad blogger :( All the thanks to Mei~ while I was gone for updating, but school has started again so as you can see we are both not updating!! I assure you guys we are going to start updating again lol. I thought it's a good idea that Mei started doing outfit pictures. Copying.

 Face:

Apply eyeliner on 2/3 of eyelid, wing at the end. Curl lashes, apply mascara. TADA.

♪ Mei's hair colour change!

Hi everyone~~ sorry about the long pause in updating! Last Saturday was my 24th birthday~ I was pretty busy preparing for my birthday party the whole week :PP And after Saturday's party I chose to be a pig for 3 days at home = =;;; I have to stop eating!!
This post is a short one, just to update my new hair colour, which I did a week ago I think? As you know I have been having that half-black half-light brown hair for so long because I was trying to be healthy to my hair, since I dyed my hair way too often for the past 2 years. I actually planned to let all the colour grow out lol,, but I finally can't take it anymore~~~ for summer I usually prefer light hair colour, but since I had light hair for the past 2 years so I decided to go with medium brown, might be a boring colour but I find this colour matching most of my summer clothes very well. Since summer clothes tend to be more colourful I prefer my hair stay more neutural, when in winter I prefer to have light and bright hair colour to balance the mostly black clothes.



I used drug store hair colour L'oreal's Exellence Creme with Pro Keratine (the one Ai used before) in #5 Medium brown. I'm not aiming for a ashy tone or golden tone but just natural brown. Excellence Creme is my absolute favourite drug store hair colour for many years, because it's ceamy and the smell is not too unbearable. Now it apparently contains Keratine, hmmm very appealing~~ :P My hair became very soft and shiny after the dye job.

♪ Last weekend~ Looks of two nights

I'm having really bad cough these days :( so I decide to stay home the whole weekend and watch dramas LOL,, so that means no looking nice for me this weekend ]:
Btw recently I'm following this drama 素直になれなくて Sunao ni narenakute (can't be honest) the story is pretty good and plus my favourite Eita and Juri!! It's talking about this group of friends who met on Twitter~ interesting I think~ I used to not like Tohoshinki so much... but one of them is in this drama and I realised he is a very diligent actor, and his Japanese is pretty perfect! Anyway I highly recommand if you are also a J-drama fan :P
Ok back to topic~ this is the Lotd for last Friday, I was going for a casual look since I was just going to karaoke & drinking with a few friends, lol hence the flats! I matched the outfit with soft mixed (inwards & outwards) curls with light and natural makeup, the eye makeup is quite boring lol.. I didn't even curl the lashes I think... hmm hope you guys are not bored of this natural makeup thing I always do... I promise I'll do more fun makeup sometime~~!!

People who have visited Japan should know this store, it's basically like our Footlocker and it's EVERYWHERE~~ they mostly sell sneakers etc,, but I somehow managed to find this super cute silver sandals there 2 years ago,, and yes I still wear them now!! hahaha they are getting really worn out tho... T__T I have been looking for a substitute but have yet to found anything like this!! urghhhh~~~ Don't you just HATE it when this happens??!!

♪ Makeup & hair for hats

I love hats! I have an obsession with accessories such as hats, scarfs, belts etc, I actually took these pics days ago, I was planning to do a video tutorial but since it hasn't been done yet, I thought I would post this on blogger first :)

Makeup for hats should focus on:

• under eye concealer
• bottom eye makeup

Hats tend to cast shadow to darken your black circle so concealer is a key (however I hate to wear loads of concealer so you can still see some darkness under my eyes); and for the same reason we need to add more impact on our bottom eye line. I prefer using shimmer liner or wet a shadow to do my bottom liner instead of harsh black liner or liquid liner because it is for day time after all :) and don't forget to do bottom lashes~

• Guerlain shadow Touche de Bronze N.280
• Guerlain Divinora eye pencil (shimmer) Bronze Noir N.7
• Clinique high impact mascara

Hair for hats should be styled after wearing the hat, you need to make extra volume with the hair thats showing to balance the top visually; your hair easily looks flat with a hat so don't think hats are only to save the bad hair days! You still need to style them~!
I usually use hot rollers after wearing the hat, and of course hair sprays to set and add volume.

Army style hat: I loved this hat in winter & fall, but Toronto somehow got reeeeally cold last week :<
